Understanding Tags on Zora

Edited

Launch and trade markets for any topic, meme, moment, or idea with Tags.

How Tags work

Tags are created around words, concepts, celebrities, memes, or topics like "horse", "bitcoin", "snowstorm", "lebronjames", or "gtavi". Each Tag is its own coin with a unique ticker.

Tags have a 0.01% trading fee and no creator allocation. 100% of the supply goes directly into the market.

How to create a Tag

  1. Tap + to open the Create modal

  2. Tap "Tags"

  3. Enter your Tag $Ticker

    • Tickers can contain letters, numbers, spaces, and dashes

    • Max length is 64 characters

    • Each ticker must be unique — the form checks availability as you type

      • Tag tickers cannot be changed after creation. Make sure you're happy with the name and spelling before confirming.

  4. Review the preview showing your Tag's ticker

  5. Set an Initial Buy amount (optional)

    • You can purchase up to 5% of the coin supply at creation

  6. Tap "Start $TICKER" to create your Tag

Tips for creating a good Tag

  • Choose broad, recognizable topics that are likely to attract content. A Tag like "$SPORTS" will attract more Pairs than "$tuesdaybasketballgame"

  • Think about linkable content — will people naturally want to connect posts, videos, or articles to this topic? That's what drives more Pairs and trading

  • Search first — check if the Tag already exists before creating. You can search for Tags on the Explore page or directly in the create flow
