We are redistributing 300,000 OP tokens from our RPGF Round 4 grant back to our community. The retrogrant is split evenly among three categories of users who have contributed to the Zora ecosystem: creators, collectors, and builders. Each category is allocated 100,000 OP tokens.

What is the eligibility criteria?

Eligibility for the retrogrant is based on a weighted scoring system that evaluates your engagement and contributions between 1 November 2023 - 1 June 2024 across key factors tailored to collectors, creators and builders:

For Collectors

  • Unique editions minted (40%)

  • Distinct days of activity (40%)

  • Mint volume (20%) **Measures the number of mints across all editions.

For Creators

  • Unique editions created (40%)

  • Days of creation activity (20%)

  • Referrals (25%) **The number of active creators that you have invited to Zora

  • Distinct collectors (15%)

For Builders

  • Number of mints that your Zora client has facilitated


How do I claim?

IMPORTANT: Once you complete the verification process, your tokens will be immediately available for claiming. If you have a Privy embedded wallet, follow the instructions in the "Exporting Your Privy Wallet:" of this article to access your claimed tokens.

To claim your retrogrant, please ensure your wallet has enough ETH on OP Mainnet to pay for the gas fees associated with claiming.

Note: If you log in with your wallet but don’t have an email associated with it, you will be required to enter your email

  1. Sign a message to verify that you own the wallet

  2. Check eligibility and allocated OP amount

  3. Complete the verification process secured by Persona

Exporting Your Privy Wallet:

If you created your Zora account with an email address (a Privy embedded wallet), you can claim your retrogrant at op.zora.co using your email. However, to manage your claimed OP—like sending or swapping them—you'll need to first export your private key and then import it into a Web3 wallet.

Step 1: Export your wallet Private key:

**Important Note:** Never share your private key with anyone. Please keep it safe and secure. Neither Zora nor our support team will ever request your private key.

  1. Visit zora.co and sign in to your Zora account.

  2. Click on your profile icon located at the top right corner.

  3. Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

  4. Scroll down to “Connected wallet address” and click “Export” to export your wallet.

  5. Copy your private key by clicking on “Copy Key.”

  6. Please make sure to store your private key securely in a safe location.

  7. Please don't share this private key with anyone.

Now, you can import your private key into a wallet application. For this example, we’ll use Rainbow on a desktop browser.

Step 2: Import your wallet Private key to a wallet app:

You can import your private key into several popular wallet applications. For this example below, we will use Rainbow Wallet on a desktop browser.

  1. Visit rainbow.me and click on “Download Rainbow Extension.”

  2. Select the browser type you’re currently using from the dropdown menu.

  3. Install the browser extension.

  4. On the new window, click “Import of connect a wallet.”

  5. Select “Import with a Secret Recovery Phrase or Private Key.”

  6. Choose “Import from a Private Key” and paste your private key into the provided text box.

  7. Click on “Import wallet.

  8. Set a password for your wallet application.

Once you’ve successfully imported your wallet into Rainbow, you can claim your OP tokens.

Who is Persona, and why must I give them my information?

Persona is our identity verification partner, ensuring secure and compliant distributions. They handle all personal information with industry-standard security measures and strict privacy guidelines. The information you provide through the Persona process is used solely for verification purposes. 

Zora and its service providers are committed to keeping your personal data private.

The verification process through Persona helps us:

  • Ensure compliant and secure distribution of the retrogrant

  • Prevent duplicate claims

  • Meet regulatory requirements

  • Protect the integrity of the distribution process

What information will I need to provide?

To complete the verification process through Persona, you will need to provide:

  • Legal name

  • Age verification

  • Government ID

  • Location information

  • Tax information (applicable to both US and non-US residents)

How do I know if I'm eligible?

Is there a claim window?

  • Yes, eligible retrogrants must be claimed by March 16, 2025. After this date, all unclaimed retrogrants will become unavailable.

Why do I need to verify my identity?

  • Identity verification helps ensure a fair and compliant distribution process while meeting regulatory requirements. This process helps prevent duplicate claims and ensures tokens are distributed to legitimate community members.

What happens to my verification data?

  • All personal information collected during the verification process is handled directly by Persona and is subject to their privacy and data protection policies. This information is used solely to verify your identity for the community retrogrant.
