What has changed on Zora?

With the Coins upgrade, we've made significant changes to streamline and improve the Zora experience.

Here's everything you need to know about what's new, what's changing, and what's coming soon.

What's new?

Every post on Zora is now an instantly tradeable coin. Now, you can buy and sell coins quickly on a desktop and in the Zora app. With the upgrade to coins:


Platform Updates

August 2025

  • Masonry grid on Web: The Masonry grid layout has been added to both profile pages and explore pages on the web.

  • 2x video speed: You can now play videos at 2x speed by long-pressing the edge of the screen on mobile.

  • Vidz: Added a new video-only dedicated feed to the Zora app.

  • Subscribe to creator: New subscription feature allows you to follow creators and receive push notifications when they post new content.

  • Unverified creator labels: Creators without linked social accounts now display an "unverified" label, which can be removed by linking a social account.

  • Creator coin holdings on profiles: User profiles now display their Creator Coin holdings.

July 2025

  • Swap with comment: Brought back the ability to swap and comment at the same time.

  • Creator coins in feed: Creator coin trades appear directly in your main feed.

  • Carousel: Added a new Carousel feature to posts, enabling up to 12 images in one post.

  • Search improvements: The Search tool received better-ranked results and prioritizes exact matches first.

  • Enhanced charts: Improved chart sizing, spacing, haptic feedback for trades, and better scrubbing functionality.

June 2025

  • Charts for creator coins: Market cap charts are now available for Creator Coins.

  • Top creators category: New "Top Creators" category added to the Explore page

  • Creator Coins: Every profile on Zora is now a coin. More posts mean more opportunity. Enjoy more ways to earn.

  • Coinbase deposits: Introduced a faster deposit method to the Zora app for depositing funds using Coinbase’s Onramp

  • NSFW tag: Added an NSFW tag that blurs posts containing Not Safe For Work content

May 2025

  • Simpler Create flow: Introduced a simpler Create flow on the Web and Zora app, allowing you to create all on one page

  • Top holder: The Top Holder of a coin (other than the creator, or the Uniswap pool) now gets a green Crown beside their username on the holders tab, and gets their comments pinned to the top

  • New Explore categories: Introduced the “Featured” and “Video” categories on the Explore page

  • Custom thumbnails for video posts: You can now select a custom thumbnail for video posts either from a specific frame in your video or an image from your library

  • Masonry layout returns: The masonry layout on profiles has been reintroduced

  • Follow profiles from feed: Profiles you don’t follow now have a “+” button beside their profile picture for easy following directly from the feed

  • AI creator tool: Added an AI-powered creator tool to generate images directly on Zora

  • Charts: Market cap charts are accessible directly from the coin page on the Web

  • New trade colours: Introduced new Green and Pink colours for Buying and Selling

  • Posts paired with $ZORA: New posts are now paired with $ZORA instead of ETH

April 2025

  • Buy with any coin: Added ability to pay with any coin created on Zora, as well as $ZORA and USDC

  • Wallet view improvements: The wallet view now shows an estimated value of all your holdings

  • “New” tag for coins: New coins created within the last 24 hours and have no trades now show a “New” tag

  • New Explore tab view: The Explore tab now features a three-column layout, making content browsing coins easier

  • $22 starting market cap: New coins will have a starting market cap of $22.

  • Dark mode fixes: All pages now respect dark mode

  • Coins SDK released: Officially launched Coins SDK for developers, allowing features like creating coins, trading coins, updating and managing coin metadata, and more

  • Coin Address searching: Added Coin Address searching to the search bar to easily find Coins

  • Real-time trades on home feed: Real-time trades in the navbar for quick reference of recent trading activity

March 2025

  • Creator Earnings update: The Creator Earnings now include Trade Earnings with a more detailed breakdown modal

  • Dark mode: Dark mode was released across the platform

  • Balance indicator: Added a new balance indicator on web and mobile.

  • Performance improvements: Made navigation between Home and Explore tabs faster

  • Wallet view: Shipped a new wallet view to show held coin balances

  • Token page improvements: Token pages now load faster and reliably

  • Comment after purchase: You can now comment immediately after purchasing without having to refresh the page

  • Friends Bought tab: Added a "Friends Bought" tab on both web and mobile platforms, showing you what Coins your friends have traded

  • Grid view for Explore: Shipped a grid view for the Explore page on the Web

  • Double Tap to Buy: Re-implemented double tap to buy on the Mobile app


Deprecated Features

  • You cannot mint, edit or comment on NFTs (ERC721 and ERC1155)

  • Airdrop feature is no longer available

  • Cointags have been discontinued

  • Custom mint start times are no longer supported when creating

  • Canvas tool removed from Zora.co (still available in the Zora app)

  • PDF, audio/MP3, and 3D file uploads are no longer supported (MP4 recommended for audio)
