How to start your journey on Zora

Welcome to Zora! This guide will be your A - Z(ORA) on how to get yourself started!

First, let's begin with a few basics:

What is Zora?

Zora is a space for creators and collectors to enjoy Ethereum and the opportunities it creates. Zora offers a toolkit to have your artwork, songs, videos, podcasts, animations, or memes turned into NFT collections. It is not just for the creator; we are for the collector, too, with access to personalizable profiles and the ability to explore our home feed to scroll through live and mintable collections from the Zora community.

How can I use Zora?

Zora is yours to use and enjoy, with your imagination being your only limit

How do I get started?

Before you can create or collect on ZORA, you will need to have the following set up:

1. Wallet Set up

ZORA currently supports Metamask, Rainbow, Coinbase Wallet and any WalletConnect-compatible wallet. You must have a crypto wallet set up to create an account on ZORA.

Once your wallet is ready to connect, you can create your account.

2. Connect your wallet

To connect your wallet, follow the two steps below:

  1. Select the three dot icon in the top right-hand corner

  2. Select the “Connect Wallet” button.

  3. Choose your wallet type.

Signing up with a Metamask wallet?

  1. Select the Metamask button.

  2. Click the “Sign Up” button.

  3. A “Signature Request” will pop up in your connected wallet.

  4. Click "Sign" - This step is your password and connects your account to your wallet.

  5. You are now connected and ready to enjoy ZORA!

Signing up with a WalletConnect?

  1. Click the WalletConnect button.

  2. Scan the QR code on your connected device.

  3. Your account is connected and ready to go!

3. Fund your wallet

Now that your wallet and account are both set up and ready to use, It is recommended that you fund your wallet with sufficient ETH to cover the gas fee before attempting to mint.

Why do I need to fund my wallet before posting?

Every user who mints an NFT will have to pay a gas fee. Gas is essential to the Ethereum network. It is the fuel that allows it to operate like a car that needs gasoline to run. Gas is a fee required to conduct a transaction on the Ethereum blockchain successfully.

How do I buy ETH?

You can use this tool to find the best platform based on where you live to purchase ETH ➡️

Exchanges like Coinbase provide an easy-to-use interface to convert your fiat currency into cryptocurrency. Coinbase is a secure platform that makes buying, selling, and storing cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more easy.

If you don’t already have an account set up with Coinbase, you can do this by these few steps:

  1. Head to, and you will be prompted to enter your email address to get started.

  2. You can follow the instructions on the Coinbase website to create your account.

  3. Once your account has been approved and finalized, this is the place where you can buy ETH and send it to your connected wallet.

5. Collect, Create and Enjoy!

Now you are set to enjoy ZORA! Explore the Home Feed to see what amazing collections are live and mintable. Take full advantage of our Creator Toolkit and create your Drops and Editions collections.
