Welcome to ZORA! This guide will be your A - Z(ORA) on how to get yourself started!
What is ZORA?
ZORA is a universal media registry protocol. It’s a way for creators to publish creative media, earn money on their work, and have others build and share what they create. Our platform has recently been made open to the public, meaning you don’t need an invite to get started.
What is an NFT?
A Non-Fungible Token (NFT) is a cryptocurrency token that is indivisible and unique. One NFT cannot be interchanged with another NFT, and the whole cannot be broken down into smaller parts and used. They act as a non-duplicable digital certificate of ownership for any assigned digital asset.
NFTs are useful for proving the scarcity and provenance of rare assets, both digital and real-world. Once the code is written, it is minted or permanently published into a token. Non-fungible tokens are mainly built on Ethereum using the ERC-721 token standard, which the Zora protocol extends.
What does it mean to mint your NFT?
When an NFT is minted, its ID is registered on the Ethereum blockchain and becomes its identifier, enabling users to see and verify its history (ownership, creator, price) without needing an intermediary.

3. Fund your wallet
Now that your wallet and account are both set up and ready to use, It is recommended that you fund your wallet with sufficient ETH to cover the gas fee before attempting to mint.
Why do I need to fund my wallet before posting?
Every user who mints an NFT will have to pay a gas fee. Gas is essential to the Ethereum network. It is the fuel that allows it to operate in the same way that a car needs gasoline to run. Gas is a fee required to conduct a transaction on the Ethereum blockchain successfully.
