Create your Burn-to-Redeem Edition

There are two ways that you can create a burn-to-redeem edition.

1. Create a new edition with a burn-to-redeem period

To create a burn-to-redeem edition, you must have created another Zora collection already. This can be any of our Single-Edition (ERC-721), Drops (ERC-721) or Multi-Edition (ERC-1155) collection types.

  1. Start by selecting the “Multi-edition” collection from the Create dropdown.

  2. Add your media and metadata for the Token/NFT that you want your collectors to be able to redeem.

    1. This will include your NFTs basic details as well as choosing which collection you'd like this edition to be in OR if you'd like it to be part of its own new collection, then select "New Collection"

  3. If you would NOT like to have a traditional mint running at the same time as your burn-to-redeem period, select "Skip".

  4. Under “Additional features”, select the “Burn-to-Redeem” option to begin setting up your burn-to-redeem period.

  5. Select the tokens that you want your collectors to burn. If your collectors are burning from a Multi-Edition, ensure that you select your Collection and the specific edition they need to burn from.

  6. Input all the details for your redeeming/minting period:

    1. Select the number of tokens the collectors will receive from the burn.

    2. Set a “Start date” for this period, whether now or in the future.

    3. Choose the "Duration" of this period, whether it has a set end date or is open forever.

    4. Finally, then select "Continue" to review your details.

Review your Burn to Redeem details before selecting “Create". This will prompt you to confirm TWO transactions.

  1. The first transaction will create your 1155 edition.

  2. The second transaction will create your burn-to-redeem.

You must confirm both of these transactions for the burn-to-redeem to be successfully created. You can check the status of your transaction by clicking the "View on Etherscan" link in your connected wallet. Once your transactions have been successful, your burn-to-redeem edition has been created.

2. Add a burn-to-redeem period to your existing collection.

You can add a burn-to-redeem period if you have an existing ERC-1155/Multi-Edition collection. To do this, you must access the ‘manage collection’ section from the collection you want your collectors to redeem.

  1. Once in your collections’ settings, select the “Burn to Redeem” Tab.

  2. Select the collection that you want your collectors to burn

    1. It can be any of your previously created ZORA collections

    2. If you are selecting from a muli-edition collection, you will need to specify which token is to be burnt.

  3. Select the number of tokens/NFTs that must be burnt.

  4. Confirm the number of tokens/NFTs a collector will redeem from the burn.

  5. Select your minting period.

  6. Click "Submit" and confirm the transaction with your wallet. Once the transaction is successful, you will have created your burn-to-redeem period on your edition.

  7. Review your Burn to Redeem details before selecting “Submit". This will prompt you to confirm a transaction. You can check the status of your transaction by clicking the "View on Etherscan" link in your connected wallet. Once your transactions have been successful, your burn-to-redeem edition has been created.
