What happens after reporting content on Zora

Edited

When you report something on Zora, here's what happens next.

The review process

Every report submitted through Zora is reviewed by a member of the Trust & Safety (T&S) team.

  1. The T&S team receives your report — it enters the review queue along with the reason you selected and any additional context you provided

  2. A team member reviews the content — they look at the reported content itself, the account behind it, any relevant context (including patterns of behavior), and the specific section of the Community Guidelines that may apply

  3. The team decides — based on the review, they take one of the actions described below

Timelines

Most reports are reviewed within 24–48 hours. Reports involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or imminent threats of violence are prioritized and acted on as quickly as possible.

Some reports take longer — for example, cases that involve coordinated behavior across multiple accounts, or nuanced context that requires deeper investigation. If your report falls into one of these categories, the team is still working on it.

Possible outcomes

After reviewing a report, the T&S team may take one of several actions:

  • Content removed or hidden — the reported content is taken down or made non-visible on the platform

  • Warning issued — the account owner receives a warning about the violation, particularly for first-time or minor issues

  • Account restricted or suspended — the account's ability to post, trade, or interact may be limited temporarily or permanently

  • No action taken — if the content doesn't violate the Community Guidelines, it stays up. Not every report results in removal — sometimes content is distasteful but doesn't cross the line defined in the Guidelines. That's a deliberate part of how Zora works

For a full breakdown of enforcement actions and how severity is assessed, see Understanding enforcement actions on Zora.

Report outcome notifications

For privacy and operational reasons, Zora may not always share the specific outcome of your report. Enforcement details can involve sensitive information about another user's account, so we can't always share specifics.

That said, if you reported content and it was removed, you'll be able to see that directly on the platform.

Proactive detection

Reports from users are one of the main ways violations are caught, but they're not the only way. Zora's T&S team proactively monitors the platform for content that violates Community Guidelines. This includes automated detection for certain categories (like CSAM) and manual review of content that surfaces through other signals.

Your reports help shape these efforts. Patterns identified through user reports often inform broader enforcement actions.

Good-faith reporting

The reporting system exists to keep the platform safe. Please use it in good faith. Reports submitted to harass another user, silence content you simply disagree with, or manipulate the platform may themselves be treated as a violation of Community Guidelines.
